Just back from watching spiderman, they had a late session starting at 11:10pm, which is kinda weird cause the latest sessions usually ends at around 11.. hrmm anyway... its a top top top!! movie... really.. follows the comicbook pretty damn well and the graphics are sweet... but not that fake that they look crappy... *sigh* really really cool... cant wait for the sequal..

Re-installed OS X on my ibook after having problems with php, anyway, i started this time with 10.1.3, instead of the public beta which i had originally on teh other and just updated. An surprisingly it did make a different... I noticed a few differences in the apache httpd.conf file between my old 10.1.5 system and my current 10.1.5 system from scratch... anyway... its running great now... very swishy :)

Got PHP and MYSQL installed on my iBook, took a little while, but i fumbled my way through. Wrote a few php pages to test it out and is all funky.. im going to start churning out php scripts.. try to do the stuff i have done in cold fusion with php... cross platform yeah yeah!!

Been having serious thoughts about my phd... and having little debates in my head... as yet there has been no clear winner but like all good debates we have the last speakers to round things up and hit me with the concluding statement... so i look forward to that. Its weird... but im not sure if its the right way to go at the moment... hrmmm dammit... ill think it over... chat to some people and see what comes out...

Still raining here... been raining since last sunday... on and off, one minute it will be bright and sunny, ten minutes later raining really hard...

Its a long weekend this weekend.. which is cool, and there is also a public holiday on thursday, its show week in Rockhampton!... i dont know if ill bother going, the last 2 years ive gone along, walked around and come home dusty with a sore stomach from show food... but i guess thats all part of it..

Im off to the beach tomorrow... gunna take a book and my ibook and do some reading/coding/thinking... i dunno how the ibook will go in the sea breeze, but i guess ill find out...

hrmmm, righto, im off to bed... try to wake up at 7 or so... i slept in till 10 this morning and that sucks cause half the day is over...

Its still raining.... it hasnt rained for months up here... and then all of a sudden it comes... but im not complaining...

Ive been thinking, and i need to overhawl my webpage... somthing dynamic this time... fancy schmancy and so forth... ive got some ideas in the works.. the problem is finding a webhost... that is free and supports dynamic content / databse driven stuff, hrmmm...

Finished the crystal training today, it was cool, and i can now use crystal reports.. :) heh heh... not thats its that difficult, but there are a few little tricks here and there...

my blogs lately have just been short little bursts of news, i dunno why that is... my rambleness is gone.. maybe it will return, who knows.

oh!, theres a new update for OS X out!, 10.1.5!, i installed it tonight and i have to admit i noticed a performace gain... i read that it is faster but im a bit of a sceptic when i read stuff like that on newsgroups and so forth... but yes folks... i believe OS X is a lot more polished with this update and runs quite well!.. I think i need to do the whole format and reinstall thing, but it will be a pain to have to reinstall all the updates... i have a 10.1.3 install cd, so im thinking that if i install that then i should be able to update to 10.1.5 from that and hopfully it will include most of the older updates... hrmmm, its tough...

I tried getting php to work, but nope... it didnt... so i guess i move onto the next explanation on how to do it and see how my luck is...

dammit, its 11:20pm and im hungry... i guess i could mung down on some weetbix.... they always do the job..

Dang ive had a good few days... flat out like a lizard drinkin!.... currently doing some more crystal reports training, which is great! I dont mind it... plus a friend i knew from school that i hadnt heard from in 6 years! got in touch with me!! its unreal! sent a few emails back and forth and had a little chuckle to myself about her saying someone we went to school with is now a stripper... ha ha, oh how things change... cant wait for the reunion :) *rolling on the floor laughing my arse off*

On the IT side, im still looking around for another job. Im going to see the bloke at the uni on either thursday or friday about the tutoring work, it will be for a minimum of 2 hours a week, but could be more, so im pretty stoked about that.

Spiderman comes out soon!, ill have to go see it... i also noticed that there is a PC game for it, which looks pretty damn swish... but im saving my pennies for warcraft 3... not long to go...

Ive been trying to get php and mysql installed under OS X, and although there is a lot of info about doing it on the web, each one kinda says somthing different and does things differently, so i think its just a matter of taking one and jumping in the deep end... php doesnt look too bad really, pretty straight forward... i need to broaded my IT experience... hrmmmmm

Its been pissing down rain here for the last 2 days, woke me up at about 5am this morning with winds that i thought were going to blow the roof off my flat and take my warm comfy doona... im telling ya, there should be a rule against getting up at 7am when its still dark.. means only one thing - its going to be an ugly ugly day.... but apart from that i dont mind it, a bit of rain is good... plus it will save me watering my front lawn which doesnt seem to grow anyway... :)

righto... thats me done i think... its time for me to hit the showers!
